Project Manager II/III

Lythix is seeking to staff a Project Manager II/III to work with the Lead Project Manager on coordinating and accomplishing the necessary project tasks and requirements.  The successful candidate for this position will provide overall management direction to multiple projects, establishes project objectives and policies, maintains liaison with client(s), and monitors construction and financial activities through administrative direction of the onsite field representative.  This position is relationship driven and you must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with customers, office / field personnel, and maintain organized records of all communication during full cycle of projects.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews, approves, submits, and tracks subcontract’s invoices.
  • Assists Lead Project Manager in the execution of the management plan for assigned projects
  • Helps coordinate and manage project from inception to completion
  • Carries out daily operational tasks in an effective and timely manner
  • Facilitates communications between office and field staff
  • Tracks and directly report project status updates to Lead PM and client
  • Helps problem solve issues and suggest ways to improve the project
  • Organizes, files, and maintains all current project documents
  • Helps creates, manages, and maintains project budget
  • Consults with and gathers information from technicians, engineers, contractors, etc
  • Coordinates and executes daily administrative tasks
  • Updates the project execution data sheets
  • Processes Invoices per field ticket/time sheets information.
  • Reconciles the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Obtains project updates from third party (utility) companies
  • Coordinates with utilities as necessary for the project
  • Client communication as necessary for the project
  • Make sure the client receives amazing customer care and project accuracy
  • Designs projects as necessary
  • Works across teams to ensure the client receives all deliverables in a timely manner and that they are accurate
  • Responsible to be available after hours and weekends as the project and client dictate

    Qualifications:

    • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
    • Must have at least five years of engineering experience, including distribution engineering design, protection and control implementation, and arc flash studies;
    • Must have experience with ETAP or Milsoft software solutions. 
    • Must have minimum of two years of experience leading cross-functional project teams (includes engineers, construction crews, operations personnel, business managers, etc.); 
    • Must have excellent oral and written communications skills, and be customer focused to appropriately identify and respond to clients’ technical and business needs;
    • Must be a problem solver, with creative and innovative thinking;
    • Must have experience interfacing with electric utility companies;
    • Knowledge and understanding of transmission and distribution engineering, including routing issues, conductor selection, structure determination, plan and profile development, material specifications, etc.
    • Must be willing to travel as required by projects and assignments (Daily 50%, Overnight less than 20%);

    Electrical Engineer

    Lythix is seeking to staff an Electrical Engineer to perform electrical engineering and design studies, develop electric infrastructure solutions for Lythix clients, and manage the implementation of projects. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for overseeing the engineering and design of electrical distribution systems, transmission facilities including interconnection with onsite power generation systems, acting as the client’s engineer for complex projects, managing the implementation of new construction projects, and resolving complex technical issues with all of the above.  Preferred Candidate will have a current P.E. License in Texas and/or New Mexico.

    Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Candidate will meet with clients to understand their electrical infrastructure challenges, current and future needs and requirements and identify options that provides a solution to their needs;
    • Work with project teams (internal, external, client, subcontractor) to create conceptual design documents, drawings, and scope of work parameters for project solutions;
    • Perform engineering studies including load flow, arc flash, surge suppression, relay coordination, ground grid design, transformer sizing, conductor and cable sizing, etc.;
    • Develop and manage project schedules and budgets to ensure projects remain on schedule, within scope and under budget;
    • Schedule and conduct pre-engineering and pre-construction onsite reviews with stakeholders;
    • Create and publish project meeting minutes and project update reports for both internal and client review;
    • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, critical paths, long lead time equipment orders;
    • Manage various engineering contractors and work with those contractors to ensure consistency and quality of design, delivery milestone dates and costs;
    • Review, evaluate, and approve engineering contractor design cost estimates on direct award and/or competitive bidding;
    • Review and approve Job Orders, Change Orders, and subcontractor and equipment vendor invoices;
    • Ensure engineering standards for projects are designed to NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards (and other standards as required) and that construction conforms to the standards;
    • Perform site inspections to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with engineering specifications, and possess the ability to make field engineering changes to resolve unforeseen circumstances;
    • Create and maintaining a safety conscious work environment by example and influencing others to follow safety protocols and safe work practices;

    Qualifications:

    Job Description

    Position Overview

    The Power System/Design Engineer’s primary function is to perform load flow and system coordination studies in support of (1) new projects, standards, and specifications development, (2) value engineering, and (3) troubleshooting of existing system projects.

    The responsibilities of the Engineer will include, but not be limited to, conducting studies in Milsoft, ETAP or SKM, responding to inquiries on transient system events through data analysis, field visits, communication, and modeling/simulation, as well as, client project management.

    The successful candidate will have a strong core of theoretical knowledge, field construction experience and applications experience along with excellent teamwork and written/oral communication skills.

     

    Typical responsibilities will include:

    • Designs power system facilities and coordinates construction, operation, and maintenance of electric power distribution systems.
    • Designs and plans layout of transmission and distribution lines.
    • Conducts power system studies on the potential impact of new technologies and specific projects to aid in proposal and specification development.
    • Troubleshooting of field issues on existing equipment through modeling and real-world application.
    • Responding to inquiries on transient system events.
    • Working with other designers and engineers to evaluate new technologies, products, and manufacturers.
    • Must demonstrate business mastery, including the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, manage risks and safety appropriately, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
    • Estimates labor, material, construction, and equipment costs.

     

    Job Requirements

    Minimum qualifications

    • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Power Engineering, PE preferred but not required.
    • Typically possesses 3 or more years of experience in power systems studies, or protection, or system planning, or operations for the electric power utility industry in Milsoft, ETAP knowledge a plus.
    • At least 2 years of experience in developing models, performing simulations and documenting/presenting results, e.g. load flow, use coordination studies and the like.
    • Must have at least 3 years of experience consulting with clients, including independently identifying client needs, developing action plans, and identifying deliverables.

     

    Desired qualifications

    • Experience and knowledge of power distribution systems.
    • Experience using the following software: Milsoft, PLSCad, SAG 10, Spida Calc, ETAP and ESRI are preferred but not required.

    Hands-on troubleshooting experience with relays, protection devices, and distribution system fault analysis.
